At last we have our first look at the soon-to-be-released WWII drama series 'Masters of the Air' with the release of a brand new trailer.
The 9-part series is out on 26th January 2024 on Apple TV+ and stars a host of young talent including Callum Turner who plays Major John 'Bucky' Egan. His character is based on a real bomber pilot who fought in the skies above Europe during World War II.
The cast also includes Freddy Carter as Lt. David Friedkin, Stephen Campbell Moore as Major Marvin "Red" Bowman, Edward Ashley as Lt. Col. John B. Kidd and James Frecheville as Major William W. Veal.
The official synopsis says the show, "follows the men of the 100th Bomb Group (the “Bloody Hundredth”) as they conduct perilous bombing raids over Nazi Germany and grapple with the frigid conditions, lack of oxygen, and sheer terror of combat conducted at 25,000 feet in the air. Portraying the psychological and emotional price paid by these young men as they helped destroy the horror of Hitler’s Third Reich, is at the heart of “Masters of the Air.” Some were shot down and captured; some were wounded or killed. And some were lucky enough to make it home. Regardless of individual fate, a toll was exacted on them all."
Masters of the Air is executive produced by Steven Spielberg through Amblin Television, and Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman for Playtone
