Sky Peals is the debut film from British-Pakistani director Moin Hussain and tells the story of Adam, a young neuro-diverse British Pakistani man, who is struggling with feelings of isolation and alienation from society around him.
Claire Rushbrook plays his mother Donna, who has sold the family home so she can move in with her new partner. But she struggles to persuade Adam to move out, a situation exacerbated when he gets a phone call telling him his father has suddenly died.
The film had its worldwide premiere at the Venice Film Festival, but this week will have its UK premiere at the BFI London Film Festival, with screenings on Wednesday 11th and Friday 13th October. Both screenings have sold out.
It has been selected by Time Out as one of its picks of the Festival.
