Brand new "darkly comic" crime drama series 'Passenger' begins on ITV1 on Sunday night at 9pm. The 6-parter is set in the small town of Chadder Vale where a series of strange and inexplicable crimes has rocked the community, including the disappearance of a young girl, Katie Wells.
Daniel Ryan stars in the show as Derek Jackson, the owner of the local bread factory where Katie works as an accountant. Matilda Freeman stars as Katie's younger sister Lily Wells.
In a recent interview Daniel describes Derek as “a seemingly affable, nice boss. He's got aspirations. He probably thinks he's a bit better than everybody else, but he's just living his life and trying to get back with his wife, Terri. He's just living his life, but with a big secret.”
He continued, “Passenger is the not like any other show I've ever worked on. It's a cross between many different genres. They’re all characters who you feel you would know but are all from a kind of slightly deranged world. It's a show that essentially, you could say was a cop show, but it's not. You could say it was science fiction, but it's not. You could say it was a creepy dark comedy, but it's not that either.”
The series also stars Wunmi Mosaku and David Threlfall.
Watch the trailer and tune in on Sunday night at 9pm to watch the first episode. The second episode will air on Monday 25th at the same time with subsequent episodes airing over the following weeks. All episodes will also be available on ITVX.
