ITV has announced their latest major series, dark comedy-thriller 'Passenger', which has been created by Broadchurch and The Crown actor Andrew Buchan in his screenwriting debut. The cast has also been revealed and includes Daniel Ryan who will play Derek Jackson, one of the leading roles. He will star alongside Wunmi Mosaku and David Threlfall.
The series is set in a small Northern village, where a local girl is abducted and then returned the next day safe and sound. Although the villagers return to life as normal, none of it sits right with ex-Met police detective and relative outsider Riya Ajunwa. As a series of strange happenings and increasingly horrific crimes start unfolding within the village, the residents start resorting to short-sighted theories and blaming outside influences. Riya fights hard to convince the villagers that all is not as it seems.
The six-part series is produced by the award-winning SISTER (This Is Going To Hurt, Chernobyl, The Following Events are Based on a Pack of Lies).
Passenger is set to premiere on ITVX next year, and will also air on ITV1.
Daniel Ryan is available for voiceovers from Anthea Represents. Click his image for his profile page and voiceover showreel.
