ITV has today announced that they will be returning to Morecambe Bay for a 5th season of hit crime drama series 'The Bay'.
The show stars Daniel Ryan as police boss DI Tony Manning who we saw take his boss to task at the end of last season with an impassioned rant about the state of the force and the struggles his team face.
ITV Head of Drama Polly Hill has said, "We're delighted to be returning to Morecambe for another series of The Bay. The series is a huge success story for ITV and we're grateful to the team at Tall Story Pictures for continuing to create compelling stories and characters".
ITV have also revealed a few plot details saying that Morecambe MIU will be looking into "the emotionally complex life of a divided family" in which the victim's parents are "bitterly divorced", which means the team will have to "tread very carefully to keep the whole family onside".
It is expected that the 5th series will air sometime in early 2024.
