Elen Rhys and Richard Harrington star in brand new Welsh language crime thriller 'Cleddau' (The One That Got Away) which premieres this Sunday night, 13th October, at 9pm on S4C and BBC iPlayer. There will also be an English language version released next year on the BBC.
The 6-part drama set in Pembrokeshire sees the pair playing ex-lovers DI Ffion Lloyd and DS Rick Sheldon who reunite to solve the murder of a local nurse which has sent shockwaves through the small rural community. When it appears that the killing is linked to the historic Heart Knot murders from 12 years before, they enter into a race against time before the killer strikes again.
Described as an "emotionally charged and psychologically driven thriller which twists and turns towards a heart-stopping finale", the official synopsis also goes on to reveal ""Ffion and Rick will become our guiding light despite their flaws. Their passion and chemistry will reignite until an explosive secret jeopardises not only their rekindled relationship but Rick’s integrity, reputation and career. In the shadow of death, Cleddau/ The One That Got Away is also a forensic examination of a love affair that may have ended but remains raw and unresolved."
The show is written by Cath Tregenna, who returns to her native West Wales after writing for hit TV shows including Three Pines, Law & Order UK, Lewis, DCI Banks & The Bench. It was filmed on location on the Pembrokeshire coast in west Wales and south Wales.
Elen Rhys and Richard Harrington are both fluent in Welsh, with native Welsh accents (as well as neutral accents), and are available for voiceovers from Anthea Represents. Click their images for their profile pages and voiceover showreels.
