Welsh-born Elen is best known for her starring role as Detective Miranda Brake in the first two series of ‘The Mallorca Files’, with series 3 due out in 2024. Also in 2024 she will co-lead new Welsh crime drama series 'The One That Got Away', starring opposite Richard Harrington. She has appeared in many high profile TV shows including roles in ‘Silent Witness’ and series 3 of ‘Broadchurch’.
In 2023, she played Fiona, mum of privileged schoolboy Archie who is accused of raping a working class black girl who also attends his elite private school in 'Consent' on Channel 4. The one-off drama was described as a "searing commentary...miss it at your peril" by the Evening Standard.
In 2021 she had a major role in series 3 of the BBC Cymru/S4C crime drama ‘Craith’, which was also filmed in English as 'Hidden' and shown on BBC Four and BBC One Wales in early 2022.
She has appeared in feature films including the thriller ‘Crow’ and Netflix’s ‘Apostle’.
She will also play a role in the upcoming TV drama about the coronavirus pandemic ‘This Sceptred Isle’ (Sky Atlantic).
Elen's native accent is soft, Southern Welsh, her first language was Welsh. You can hear her doing a stronger Welsh accent in her Tesco ad.
