Máiréad Tyers and Sofia Oxenham, the stars of Disney+ hit comedy 'Extraordinary', have both received BAFTA nominations for 'Best Female Performance in a Comedy'.
The full list of nominees was announced earlier today and also sees the show nominated for Best Scripted Comedy.
Máiréad plays Jen, a twenty-something in a world where everyone gets a superpower at the age of 18…except for her, with Sofia playing her best friend Carrie, an anxiety-ridden legal assistant who can communicate with the dead.
It has been described by The Guardian as “Disney’s Encanto for grownups. Or Derry Girls with superpowers”.
Series 1 is available to stream now on ITVX and Disney+, with Series 2 released last month on Disney+. See the full list of nominations now.
