Sherwood, starring David Morrissey and Claire Rushbrook, has been nominated for Best Drama Series at this year’s BAFTAs.
The BBC One crime drama, which is set in a Nottinghamshire mining village, was inspired by two real life murders in 2004. The drama follows two police officers - one from the local force and one from the Met Police - who try to solve the murders and uncover any link. The drama also explores the social divisions left in the community dating back to the events of the miners strike decades earlier.
David Morrissey starred as Detective Chief Superintendent Ian St Clair, the lead detective on the case with long-standing ties to the community. Claire Rushbrook also starred as Cathy Rowley, sister in law to one of the victims.
The 2023 TV BAFTAs ceremony will take place on Sunday 14th May, hosted by comedians Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan. The ceremony will be shown from 7pm on BBC One and iPlayer. See the full list on nominees.
