Comedy slapstick video game 'Thank Goodness You're Here' is released today to celebrate 'Yorkshire Day'. It is available now on PC, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch.
The game features a host of Northern voice talent, including West Yorkshire's Chris Cantrill, two-time Edinburgh Best Show nominee.
The game is set in the fictional northern town of Barnsworth, which seamlessly combines 1970s stereotypes with modern-day caricatures. Players take on the persona of an unnamed travelling salesman who is seeking a meeting with the mayor, but they’re soon chucked out into the town square, with time to kill. Thankfully, Barnsworth is full to the brim with absurd characters with problems that only you can fix. Once you solve a problem, that will unlock a new part of the town, and a new quest.
The game, from developers Coal Supper, has proved extremely popular with critics and was one of the official selection at TriBeca 2024 and the London Games Festival 2024.
