Filming has begun on new Paramount+ drama series 'Little Disasters', based on the novel of the same name by Sarah Vaughan who also wrote hit TV series 'Anatomy of a Scandal'.
The 6-parter sees Emily Taaffe starring as young mother Mel, with Stephen Campbell Moore playing her husband Rob. Mel is part of a tight-knit decade-long friendship group with 3 other mothers, played by Diane Kruger, Jo Joyner and Shelley Conn. However the group's friendship is tested to the limit when Diane Kruger's character Jess takes her baby daughter to hospital with a suspicious head injury. Jo Joyner's character Liz, a doctor, has to make the decision whether to call social services on her life-long friend.
The official synopsis reads "Her decision brings long-buried issues, insecurities and judgements to the surface and shows how one moment can destroy everything."
Commissioning Editor for Paramount+ Paul Testar said, “We are big fans of Sarah Vaughan’s novel and thrilled to be working on this adaptation with Roughcut Television. Diane, Jo, Shelley and Emily embody our four mothers seamlessly and we can’t wait to see what each of them bring to the series.”
