Sophie Cookson and Stephen Campbell Moore to star in new ITVX period drama 'The Confessions of Frannie Langton'

'The Confessions of Frannie Langton' is a new 4-part period crime drama that follows a young girl, Frannie Langton, born into a life of slavery who is gifted to renowned scientist George Benham to work at his Mayfair mansion for him and his wife Marguerite.  Sophie Cookson stars as Marguerite Benham with Stephen Campbell Moore starring as her husband George.

Despite her initial fury at her new role as a maid, Frannie soon develops great affection for Marguerite, but things go badly wrong when she wakes up one morning to find herself lying next to her dead mistress.  Her husband has also been killed and she finds herself the chief suspect in their murder.

The series is based on Sara Collins's book of the same name which won the Costa first novel award in 2019.  No trailer or formal release date has yet been revealed, however ITV have just released some first images of Sophie as Marguerite and Stephen as George.  The series is due to run on ITV's new streaming service ITVX, and is likely to be released next year.
