Rob is a British born actor & writer, best known for his iconic portrayal of Jeremy in the long-running comedy Peep Show. The show is Channel 4’s longest running sitcom and received many BAFTA and British Comedy Award nominations over its 13 year run, winning the BAFTA for Best Sitcom in 2008.

He also wrote and starred in comedy sketch show ‘That Mitchell and Webb Look’, which won a BAFTA in 2007 for Best Comedy programme. That show also received a number of other BAFTA and British Comedy Awards nominations across its 4 season run.

He won a Best Supporting Actor Award at the National Film Awards in 2018 for his role in the comedy series ‘Back’ which returned for a 2nd season on Channel 4 in January 2021.

In 2021 he starred in BBC One's Saturday night dance-fest 'Strictly Come Dancing', paired with red-haired beauty, professional dancer Diane Buswell.

In early 2023 he played a darker role than we are used to, guest starring in Series 12 of  'Death in Paradise', playing 'doomsday prepper' Justin Webb who is suspected of murdering a fellow member of his commune.  Also in 2023 he starred as authoritative but clueless copper Martin in the festive special of the Gold comedy 'Blood Actually: A 'Murder They Hope' Mystery', alongside series regulars Jonny Vegas and Sian Gibson.

Robert’s theatrical highlights include starring as Bertie Wooster, in the West End version of Jeeves and Wooster and in the all-star West End transfer of Neville’s Island.

In 2017 Robert’s memoir ‘How Not To Be A Boy’ became a No.1 Sunday Times Best Seller.

His native accent is neutral with an East Midlands hint.
