Welsh-born Steffan is best known for his starring role in gritty ITV drama ‘The Pembrokeshire Murders’. In 2021 he starred as the lead role in Welsh-language drama series ‘Yr Amgueddfa’ (The Museum) on S4C, also available on BBC iPlayer . He also recently had a major part in award-winning BBC drama ‘Hidden’.
In 2023 he played murdered Roman Catholic priest, Father Michael, in supernatural horror film Consecration which is set on the Isle of Skye and premiered at the Glasgow Film Festival.
His leading role in drama series ‘Enid a Lucy’ earned him a BAFTA Cymru Breakthrough Award nomination in 2019. He has also appeared in a number of indie films such as Welsh language horror film ‘The Feast’ and ‘Sweetheart’, both BFI productions and ‘Last Summer’ (Flickerbook Films).
On stage, he had a number of starring roles in Shakespeare’s Globe World Tour 2018 where the audience could pick which play was performed each night out of ‘The Merchant of Venice’, ‘Twelfth Night’ and ‘The Taming of the Shrew’.
Steffan’s native accent is Welsh and he is fluent in Welsh with it being his first language.
