Miranda is instantly recognisable for her impressive career on stage and screen.  Born in North Norfolk, she went to various schools in the US and England before training at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art. 

Most recently she can be seen starring in HBO Max’s Emmy nominated martial arts crime drama ‘Warrior’, set in 19th Century California.  She plays the role of powerful feminist Nellie Davenport in Series 2 (2020) and Series 3 (2023). The show makes its Netflix debut in 2024. 

In 2024 she played Jean Seberg in French feature film 'L'Enchanteur' for Studio Canal and in 2022 she starred as one of the leads, Ruth Penny, a hard-nosed investigative journalist, in ‘The Sister Boniface Mysteries’ for Britbox and UKTV Drama.

She has had starring roles in many major hit TV shows including ‘Spooks’ and ‘24’.  In Spooks she starred as Jo Portman throughout series 4-8 and she played Caroline Fowlds, an aide to the British Prime Minister in season 9 of ‘24’.

She also had a major role in the Golden Globe winning ‘My Week with Marilyn’ which starred Michelle Williams, Eddie Redmayne, Kenneth Branagh and Judi Dench. The film was also nominated for two Academy Awards & six BAFTAs.  Other major film credits include the 2017 film version of Agatha Christie’s ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ which also starred Penelope Cruz, Kenneth Branagh and Judi Dench. Also in 2017 she was part of an incredible cast including Claire Foy, Hugh Bonneville and Andrew Garfield in the inspirational film ‘Breathe’, based on a true story. 

In 2018 she starred in the ITV crime drama series ‘Dark Heart’ as well as SyFy’s ‘Nightflyers’.  She also starred in series 2 of the hit detective comedy series ‘Vexed’ alongside Toby Stephens.  Other major TV credits include series 3 of the BBC law drama ‘Silk’ alongside Maxine Peake and the TV movie ‘My Daughter is Missing’ in which she starred in the lead role. 

Her theatrical credits include playing the title role in Howard Brenton’s 'Anne Boleyn' at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in 2011 to great critical acclaim.  She also played Hermione in the Branagh Theatre Company’s 2015 production of ‘The Winter’s Tale’ at the Garrick Theatre opposite Sir Kenneth Branagh and Dame Judi Dench with reviewers describing her performance as “beautifully played”.  In the same season, also at the Garrick, she played the wife of Branagh’s character in Terence Rattigan’s ‘Harlequinade’. 

Other theatre credits include Jez Butterworth's 'The River' at the Royal Court Theatre alongside Dominic West, 'Strangers on a Train' at the Gielgud Theatre alongside Jack Huston and ‘The Physicists’ at the Donmar Warehouse directed by Josie Rourke.

She has extensive experience in voicing video games including ‘Mass Effect’ and ‘Dragon Age: Inquisition’ the latter of which won a BTVA Video Game Voice Acting Award for Best Vocal Ensemble in a Video Game in 2015.  She was also nominated individually at the same awards for Best Female Lead Vocal Performance in a Video Game for ‘Dragon Age’.  

She has narrated some major audiobook titles including 'Lessons in Chemistry' by Bonnie Garmus, Sebastian Faulks's 'The Seventh Son' and 'Lockwood & Co: The Screaming Staircase' by Jonathan Stroud for which she was awarded Audiofile Magazine's 'Earphones Award'.

For many years she has been the voice of Millie in the animated children’s TV show ‘Thomas and Friends’ as well as voicing the role of Constance Clarke, the Assistant to Colin Baker's 'Doctor Who' for Big Finish. She narrated five series of the BBC Two documentary 'Hospital' as well as the "outstanding" 2024 BBC documentary 'Why Planes Vanish: The Hunt for MH370'. 

Miranda has a Neutral/RP accent.  She is also accomplished in Scottish, French and American accents and is fluent in French.
